As we get closer and closer to having a strong understanding of the evolutionary pressures that helped uplift us as a species, how long do we think it will be before we can recreate some of these triggers in order to uplift other species? Continue reading

68 Tiny Twitter Film Reviews (1-18-16 to 12-6-16)

This is my seventh batch of short movie reviews that I have posted on Twitter. There are 68 in this bunch. I was going to wait one whole calendar year, but I got bored tonight so I downloaded my full Twitter Archive and separated these out to kill some time. These reviews span the period from January 18, 2016 to December 6, 2016, and are listed in chronological order (the order in which they were originally posted).

I have been tweeting these sort of short 140 character Movie Reviews since I first joined Twitter. I have alternated between taking great pride in boiling down a complex opinion about something to a short, but thoughtful tweet and feeling lamely self-important about it.

Anyway, may I present to you… 68 Tiny Twitter Film Reviews:

These 57 reviews span the period from June 13 2014 to January 26 2015, and are listed in chronological order (the order in which they were originally posted).

The 6 Rules of Being Creative in a Business Environment

(Originally posted on www.GangreneSymposium.com)

Being a creative in a Business environment involves a lot of presenting and selling creative execution to clients that do not have strong creative backgrounds. These rules are designed to make the process simpler and more intuitive for the client, and therefore are fairly straightforward themselves. The main goal, always, is to hide the complexity of executing creativity behind the big emerald curtain and make the experience as rewarding as possible for the clients.

So, without further ado, may I present to you: The 6 Rules of Being Creative in a Business Environment. Continue reading

The Top Five Reasons Soccer (Futbol) Is The Most Popular Sport In The World

I totally believe that there is a 14 year old kid with glasses and a beaten up copy of the Global Almanac of Soccer that can name year, game, minute and player goal of any World Cup goal for the last 50 years off the top of his head.

As Americans, we always seem to be blindsided every four years by the amazingly over the top response to the World Cup that happens everywhere else in the world but here. We forget that our little corner of the world does not set the standard in insane crazy sports fandom for the rest of humanity.

Have you ever wondered why, then, Soccer is the most popular sport in the world? Wonder no more, I have taken the time (all of approximately 5 minutes) to explain it to you below. Continue reading

This fourth set of twitter movie reviews is a bit shorter than the previous three (which can be found here, here and here). These 14 reviews span the period from April 10, 2014 to June 13 2014 and are listed in chronological order (the order in which they were originally posted).

8 Business Adages For Better Businessing

I have a bad habit of summing up complex professional situations with made up on the spot business adages that we all then groan about. In an effort to keep track of those sayings and create easy and semi-empty content for my blog so that I have something to post to my different social networks (especially LinkedIn – because that is the biggest pain in the butt of them all to manage), I thought it would be fun to post some of them here.

So, without further ado, and in the spirit of The 7 Real Signs of Creative Peoples, may I present to you, 8 Business Adages For Better Businessing. Continue reading
